Koz Geisha is a Japanese Dancehall Reggae artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Born in Kyoto, Japan. Jamaican dancehall reggae music has been primary influence since her first exposure to the art form.
In Japan, dancehall reggae has been a big sub-culture since Bob Marley visited Japan in 1979.
Since she first listened to Caribbean music on the radio in 2000’s, she fell in love with its rhythms, uptempo beats that made her body move without her intention.
After she graduated high school, she moved to Osaka and her aunt who lived in Osaka invited her to join a local gospel choir. It was here that she learned the joy of singing in English, which solidified her decision to move to Los Angeles to explore her music overseas. She encountered people in the industry in LA, they encouraged her to start writing music. She released her first dancehall single “Bend Ova” in 2021. Now she is making a lot of noise here in the US with her dancehall rhythm beats and moves as she takes over every stage as a performer. She strives to create a very unique style blending “Japanese” and “Caribbean” tastes, and trying to create a new wave in the music industry.

Koz Geishaはロサンゼルスを拠点に活動する京都出身のDancehall Reggae アーティスト。地元京都では”COCOLO GAMAE”と言うレゲエダンスチームを結成し、関西を中心に活動していた。渡米後は自身の楽曲制作に専念し、2021年に初のシングル “Bend Ova”をリリース。年間を通し多数の音楽イベント、フェスティバル等に出演し、観客を魅了している。日本的な”和”と”カリビアン”をブレンドしたユニークなスタイルを追求し、音楽業界へ新たなウェーブを巻き起こそうとしている。また音楽業のみならず、モデル業、女優業と更なる場で活躍し、海外アーティストのミュージックビデオ等にも多数出演している。
